EastEssence.com 2012 Scholarship Program

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES  

The EastEssence.com Scholarships program was created to support and promote the importance of higher education. The program focuses on 

• Stimulating and developing student interest in higher education
• Encouraging and advising women to pursue higher education
• Striving to increase the number of students that pursue undergraduate and graduate level education within our community
• Foster the feeling of “giving back” to the community and the world.

Candidates should consider these program objectives carefully before applying and be prepared to explain in their personal statements how their study plans would support the objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified scholars must demonstrate professionalism, motivation, leadership, initiative, and personal achievement besides a strong financial need. Scholars are expected to support program objectives by choosing a study in a Graduate or Post graduate field of study.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Students must be enrolled or shortlisted for a Graduate or Post graduate program
• Students must be a graduating high school senior entering at the college freshman level in the upcoming summer or fall term or be currently in college.

 
TO APPLY:

• Complete and submit the application questionnaire given below
• Provide two (2) personal recommendation letters
• Provide a copy of ACT and or SAT score(s). For students from outside USA please provide a copy of your current marks-sheet.
• Provide a Personal Statement. The personal statement should be no more than 1500 words and should provide us a complete insight on why you feel you deserve this scholarship. The purpose of the personal statement is to give you an opportunity to tell us important things about yourself, your aspirations and the financial restraints that could prevent you from following your dream. In making decisions about scholarships, we want to consider your personal attributes and gain some sense of who you are; your experiences, accomplishments, and a variety of qualities such as motivation, self-discipline, leadership, commitment to others, your intended field of study and your career goals as well as your academic record.
• Provide a copy of all high school transcripts
• Submit completed application postmarked by August 15, 2011. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
